eyelet dress : finished!

The Eyelet Dress is finished!  Click here to see my project page on Ravelry.  My knitting gals really gave me the get-up-and-go to finish.  Plus they helped me pick out the ribbon (which can be changed, of course!)

I have to say that I LOVE the yarn I used here.  It's Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino.  It's soooo soft, and not fuzzy.  It's easier to knit with non-fuzzy yarn!

(back)

Don't get too excited, because these things take me a long time, but I have plans for a companion piece for this little dress.  Since I have a whole skein of yarn left over.  Can't leave that laying around!

best week ever ... photo dump!

So many exciting things happened last week/weekend!  Time for a photo dump.
Block Party on the Deck - Grandma Mary was in town!

Oliver teaches Henry the finer points of Mega Block building.  Henry shows Oliver how to "clean up" the blocks = throw them out of sight.

Spent Wednesday with Lily, Henry's neighborhood buddy!

Manicures for Opal's birthday on Friday.

Celebrated Ann & Alan's nuptials on Saturday!

  My handsome boys

Henry with Auntie Claire and Cousin Paige

 Loves from Auntie Carrie

Awesome bluegrass band at the reception: Bet Gone Wrong

And of course...the official family wedding band: The Dudley Manlove Quartet!  Brought their A-game as always.

 Kennedy knows how to party

Pearl Girl (and Opal) finding fun under the table

Whiskey tasting for our private after-party (Worse...definitely worse.)

Little linebacker in recovery mode Sunday afternoon

And a mini birthday party for Grandma Mary on Sunday night, since she'd be heading home the next morning.

Whew! Looks like the sun might be coming back, so this week shouldn't be too dull in comparison...

marinus home

I was so excited to send these bags off this week, to be sold in Marinus Home--a new shop opening in Poulsbo, Washington! The shop features vintage and local goods, putting "a nautical spin on home design."
The grand opening is happening May 3 - check it out if you live near Poulsbo!

when friends knit : karen's gray and white striped blanket

Here's a blast from the past - 9 months ago I took this picture!  My friend Karen knit this a-dor-a-ble gray and white blanket with a zig zag trim.  Love love love the color combination, and it's the perfect size for Henry's little lap.

We still love it - here's a snap from our walk yesterday.  We also love pointing!  At everything!
Thanks Karen!

another fun weekend!

We had so much fun visiting Jamie's family this weekend!  Did you know Buzz Lightyear is my godson, and that he just turned 3?  This little guy is about as cute as can be.  Getting so big!

Henry got some good playtime with his Howell cousins.

And of course lots of grandma & grandpa time as well. We can't wait to see these guys again for Memorial Day weekend!

cousins playdate

We had a cousins playdate today!  Too bad Oliver had school and Pearl lives so far away!  You will notice the Pearl- and Oliver-shaped holes in these pictures.

My personal favorite part of the day was when Opal played Beauty Salon with Henry.  As you can see from the look on his face, he wasn't too sure about this situation, but he sat very still, regardless.

At least there were no bows, ribbons, or headbands involved in this scenario.  Tomorrow we're off to see the Howell Cousins and Grandma and Grandpa Wiecks! Yippee!

sick days

We've had a couple of sick days over here...I've been stuck in the house with a strangely still baby boy.  Surely this isn't Henry.
 Oh so sad :(

We've managed to enjoy the sunbreaks from the windows at least.

Can't wait to get this boy well so we can get out to really enjoy spring!

when friends knit : teresa's fishy blanket

This bold blanket was a gift for Henry, knit by my friend and former co-worker (tear) Teresa!   Henry and I went to have lunch with the teachers today and she asked me to take pictures of it so she could post the pattern on her Ravelry account.

 Side 1

 Side 2

I love all the different textures - especially the bobble eyes! :)

And a quick shot of what really happens when I try to take staged pictures for my blog:
He seriously crawled through the nicely spread-out blanket about 20 times before staying away long enough for me to take a picture.  Stinker!

Henry loves his fishy blanket!  Thanks so much, Teresa!

bernie faces

We had Bernie over to play today.  Henry got to see some real live baby faces, which is awesome because he loves the ones in his book!  We decided to make our own book, entitled Bernie Faces.

 The End!
