Jenny's Triangle Quilt
My friend Jenny saw my Instagram posts about my first triangle quilt. She casually/jokingly asked if I would make her a pink & navy triangle quilt for her soon-to-arrive baby girl. I sort of laughed and gave her a "I wish I had time for that..." response. But then I could not stop thinking about how cute that would be. Navy and Hot Pink?! It had to happen. And it happened. In one weekend. I just love it, don't you?

she read my mind
One of my customers wanted a project bag just like the one pictured in the main photo of this listing, but with a "g" for her daughter's name. She told me,
"This bag is adorable. I am getting it for my infant daughter to take all her stuff to daycare and back."
She read my mind! I've been thinking that this bag is the perfect size for just a few diapers, a pack of wipes, a burp rag, and a bottle if you're a bottle-feeding mama. In fact, I've been using my "m" bag for just this purpose. Then you don't have to drag your giant diaper bag on quick trips! I'm sensing a whole new target market here...
UPDATE: After writing the draft of this post I got yet another order from someone who wanted to use this as a mini diaper bag! She writes:
"I have been looking for a cute little tote to bring to the park or something for my little girl. I have a large diaper bag, but sometimes, that is just too much and you just want something a little smaller and this is perfect! Everything else I find just isn't cute enough :)"
Aw! I'm blushing!

keep calm and . . .
Well, I've fallen victim to the "Keep Calm" craze. One of my fabulous customers wanted a bag with this saying. How could I say no? The customer is always right. :) It did turn out pretty cute. Designed by Tori!

Good Enough to Eat?
I just finished a set of monogrammed jewelry cases for Meredith's bridesmaids. I love how she chose all different colors of the same fabric (Nature Elements by Patricia Bravo).
Yum! They look like candy! Thanks Meredith!

bridesmaid bags!
Usually when I send off an order, I realize that I will never see it again (sniff) and that's that.
However, sometimes people are especially kind and come back to my shop to leave me a note saying they're happy with their purchase. So sweet!
Miss Mary (or should I say MRS. Mary - she just got married!) took it one step further on the sweetness scale by sending me a picture of her cute bridesmaids with the bags she gave them as gifts! Aren't they looking good with their monogrammed market bags?
I'm sure it was a beautiful wedding, judging by her pretty bridesmaids and her perfect color matching! :)
Thanks, Mary!

modern meadow
I love, love, love this project I did for one of my wonderful customers. She wanted 8 monogrammed jewelry cases, and she loved Joel Dewberry's Modern Meadow in the "Berry" Palette. They look so great all together!

How fun was it to order a yard in each print? I also love the Pond and Sunglow Palettes. Yum!

To-Do List Suddenly Empty!
Holy. Moley. (how do you spell that? moley? moly? -anyway-) Just finished my huge order...
Three weeks of FUN FUN FUN! Ha, can you sense my sarcasm? No for reals, it wasn't that bad at all....just SO nice to get that one crossed off the list. Lots of button sewing. Man, if school had only been in session...some second graders would be experts at sewing on buttons by now.
In other news, a custom order brought be back to my wallet-making days. No mistakes, start to finish! what what!
Yeah, so school starts two weeks from yesterday. So other than making these items, I have spent most of my time wallowing in self pity. Ha! kidding!

On My Desk...
Wednesday was On My Desk day, so here was my desk (yesterday):

Note the plethora of market bag straps (48 in all for a huge order!--not all pictured) and my computer screen displaying my 500ish hearts!! woo hoo!
I'm really sad because I took some pictures of an order I just finished and just realized most of them are blurry. ugh. Oh well, here is one that did turn out. More bridesmaid gifts! These are glasses cases. She also got matching lunch bags (from the ill-fated photos).

Can anyone explain why something is more appealing when there are several gathered together? Well, I might change my mind about that after sewing TWENTY FOUR market bags. can you say burn-out?

It's all about the details, baby
I love it when a customer knows exactly what she wants. Case in point:
Super cute, huh? Not only was this incredibly easy, but I have been meaning to start more embroidering, and this gives me all sorts of ideas. Thanks, Dawn! Another example:

Looks like a plain ol' market bag, right? Wait for it....wait for it...
Yep. It's a zippered pocket. I've never done a zippered pocket inside a bag. I was a little scared. Amazingly, it was (again) super easy AND I did the whole thing without making a mistake. Usually I'm bound to make at least 28 mistakes and what comes out of my mouth would make a sailor blush. Must do more zippered pockets. Hmmm....Do I remember how I did it? Did I write it down? Of course not! doh!
So thanks to Andrea on this one. Bring on the custom orders, ya'll!
