More Stitching...

Remember these tea-towel aprons? Well, I still had some tea-towels on my shelf, calling my name. Can you see me stitching in my parents' cozy living room? So very quaint.

So here are the aprons, now available in my shop:

ps. did you notice the bias tape?? :)

Back!

WOW! I knew I was neglecting my little blog, but I can't believe my last post was SEPTEMBER 14. Hmm. Let's just pretend I've been here all along, shall we? Mkay!

Here is something I was excited to post...um...two months ago? It is a craft fair apron. One really must have a specialized craft fair apron for the craziness that is Craft Fair. I made this out of one of those little tea towels I still had lurking on the shelf (remember this post?).

Pre-embroidery shot:Did I set the self-timer on my camera to take this picture? Yes, I did (nerd alert!).

Post-embroidery shot:I only had 2 craft fairs this season...thank God. I have been busy with Etsy orders and getting ready for Christmas - can it really be a week away??

Apron Day

Monday was Apron Day!

The two outside aprons are for gifts...but the middle on is now in my Etsy shop. More aprons to come! It's funny that I love making aprons because I don't really like cooking. Well--I love baking, but I hardly do it anymore...too much sewing to do!

In other news, I got a fancy new phone and it was lovely outside last night. So here is a Lovely Evening at Greenlake pic taken by my new phone!

15 more school days until summer vacation!

painting party

I went to a painting party today! I was inspired by my new book "Lotta Prints". . . remember how I was going to print on everything? I wasn't kidding. Here's my utensil holder!I was accompanied by three of my fantastic students...pretty talented artists, the three of them. They looked really cute in their tea towel aprons (just finished this morning)...

Tea Time

I was inspired during a trip to Ben Franklin Crafts in Redmond (LOVE this place--great fabric selection! If you're in the area you should go there!) ANYway, back to my inspiration. They had these little tea towels in the cutest colors. I have seen tea towel aprons before, but this kicked me into wanting to make them!So today I did!
This is completely cheating though because it's not finished. I need to get some more ribbon for the side ties, but that will take all of 10 min. I couldn't wait to post it! I made it child-size (I hope--I don't have a child around for a model)...it's a little gift for a special small person whose name begins with N! More to come (5 more--no tea towel left behind!).

i am back

YIKES! Have survived holiday craziness. Thank the lord. I'm in a post-holiday holding pattern, waiting for more creative inspiriation to strike. I think I drained myself a bit in the frenzy that was December. Take a look at one of my custom orders from Dec.... an apron for my dear teaching assistant (gift for her daughter). Retro fab!

Perhaps I will focus what is left of my creative energy on apron-ing... Sewing day tomorrow!
