cool august nights in neskowin!

 

We were lucky enough to be able to take another trip to Neskowin - last weekend!

 We had one perfect beach afternoon.  The sun was shining but it wasn't hot, it was just perfect.  Lots of sand, cousins to play with, holes to dig, and waves to chase.

 

 The water was, of course, icy cold.  Did that bother this kid?  Nope! What bothered him was when we took him away. :/

Another highlight was a family hike and picnic at the top of Cascade Head.

Not pictured: deli treats, Cafe at Hawk Creek, yummy meals at the Green Dragon, bonfire + s'mores at the beach, Auntie Janice, glider flying (attempts), shared baths (kids), and walks through town.  Can't wait to go back!

We had a grand long weekend in Neskowin with Jamie's whole family! Highlights:

Bathtime : Alone and With a Friend

Sand : For Digging, Not Eating

Food : Creating and Eating

Why not throw in one more road trip to end the summer with a bang?  We packed up the car and headed to Neskowin for a weekend of family and beachy goodness.  Jamie's family reunion was on the schedule, and I went ahead and invited my whole family, so it was sure to be a fun time!  Activities included...

July 4 Festivities

 We had a great July 4 vacation!  This year we headed to Neskowin to spend the holiday with Jamie's family and friends.

 Henry watched the parade with Gma and Gpa.

 It was such a beautiful, sunny trip!

 Our group did "Pirates of the Nesko-bbean" this year.  Sarah and Jen show their excitement by doing a little jig.

 

 The Osborn/Shorthill families were also in attendance.

Other activities included...

 Beach time!  Big kids enjoyed playing in sand/water, while the littlest kid enjoyed a nap under the umbrella.

 Watching fireworks around a bonfire (Henry slept through the whole thing...barely jumped once!  You'd think it would be no problem to get the kid to take a nap in a quiet house!  But I digress...)

  Meeting new friends - Henry and Oliver (3 mo) met for the first time.  As you can see they hit it off.
